Translation considerations

• Arabic is written right to left; the sworn translation restructures the layout while preserving the content, seals and signatures of the original.
• Personal names often have several accepted Latin spellings (for example Mohammed / Muhammad / Mohamed) — the translator matches the spelling already used in your passport or NIE to avoid discrepancies in your procedure.
• Documents may carry Hijri as well as Gregorian dates and Eastern Arabic numerals; both are rendered accurately in the translation.
• Stamps, seals and handwritten annotations are common on Arabic-language records and form part of the certified translation.
• Bilingual Arabic–French (Maghreb) or Arabic–English (Gulf) documents are handled with each language section accounted for.

Delivery and digital format

Upload a clear scan or photo — including every page with stamps or annotations — and the certified translation is delivered as a digitally signed PDF (PAdES) valid under Orden AUC/213/2025 where applicable. The receiving authority determines whether printed copies are additionally required.

Apostille and legalisation

Legalisation requirements differ sharply by country. Morocco, for example, is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, while documents from several other Arabic-speaking jurisdictions follow consular-legalisation routes instead. Whether an apostille or consular legalisation is needed depends on the issuing country, the receiving authority and the procedure — confirm before ordering.
