Spanish authorities treat them as different documents with different purposes, and many procedures ask for both.

Applying the discount to the net price is the standard, transparent way to discount in Spain: the tax is always calculated on what you actually pay. Urgency and expedited-delivery charges are excluded — they are added at their normal price. Example (illustrative only): on an eligible net subtotal of €200, the 25% discount is −€50, leaving €150; 21% IVA on €150 is €31.50, for a total of €181.50. This is only an example — your actual price depends on the documents in your order, urgency is never discounted, and your exact saving is shown automatically before you pay.

Why three separate documents are required
